The Chairmanship aspirant in Ido Local Government, Asiwaju Olatilewa Ayinla Oladimeji, has overseen the distribution of bags of rice and cash gifts to key stakeholders across the council area as part of Eidel-Fitri celebration and ongoing community support efforts.

The items were shared among ward representatives, local government party executives, political leaders, religious figures, community heads, and other notable stakeholders in what officials described as a gesture aimed at strengthening grassroots engagement and welfare.

Speaking during the distribution exercise, Oladimeji said the initiative reflected his commitment to inclusiveness and support for all segments of society.

“This effort is designed to ensure that no group is left behind, especially those who play vital roles in maintaining religious harmony, peace and unity within our communities,” he said.

He added that traditional and religious leaders remain critical partners in governance at the local level.
“We recognise the importance of our royal fathers and faith leaders in fostering stability, and this is a token of appreciation for their continued support,” he noted.
Some beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the gesture, describing it as timely and impactful.
A community leader who attended the event said, “This kind of support goes a long way in strengthening our support for our son who by the grace of Almighty Allah will become the next Executive Chairman of Ido local government in 2027.
The distribution is part of a broader welfare programme by Asiwaju Ayinla which is aimed at improving living conditions and reinforcing collaboration among community stakeholders and party leaders.
