Former Chairman of the Oyo State Sports Council, Hon. Gbenga Adewusi, popularly known as Arole, alongside former Vice-Chairman of the Oyo State Tourism Board, Mogaji Abass Oloko, have commended Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja following the submission of his nomination forms for the 2027 Oyo State governorship race under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The duo, in a joint statement made available to journalists on Monday, described Arapaja’s decision to formally join the governorship contest as a welcome development, particularly for the people of Ibadan Northeast/Ibadan Southeast Federal Constituency.
According to them, Ambassador Arapaja possesses the political experience, leadership capacity, and grassroots connection required to sustain the developmental strides being witnessed in Oyo State.
They noted that his entrance into the race has further strengthened the confidence of party loyalists and supporters across the state, especially within Ibadanland, expressing optimism that his ambition would attract massive support from party stakeholders and the electorate.
Hon. Adewusi and Mogaji Oloko also declared their total support for Arapaja’s governorship aspiration, stating that his wealth of experience in public service and party administration places him in a strong position to provide quality leadership for Oyo State.
They urged PDP members and residents of the state to rally behind the former Deputy Governor, describing him as a tested and trusted politician committed to the progress and unity of Oyo State.
Recall that the chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party and National Secretary of the Interim National Working Committee (iNWC), Taofeek Arapaja, this morning, submitted the forms to the Member and National Organizing Secretary of the party, Dakas Shan.
Party faithful and supporters present during the submission reaffirmed the party’s popular slogan, “PDP… Power to the People,” expressing optimism over the party’s chances in the forthcoming political contest.
