The death has been announced of a veteran of a Multidisciplinary Finance Professionals Group Under the aegis of MFP Group Nigeria and MFP Global Services in person of Mr Murtala Ahmed, FCA.

Mr. Murtala Ahmed FCA, died in a ghastly motor accident last Sunday, along Lagos-Ibadan express way on his way to Lagos after a private visit to Ibadan to see his family.

The deceased worked for over two decades with Fan Milk Nigeria (Kano and Lagos), later transferred his employment service to Flour Mills of Nigeria in the last 10 years. He was a thorough bread professional, a detribalized Nigerian, sociable with amiable personality.

According to family source, the late finance professional will be buried later this evening in line with Islamic injunction, at his private residence in Ibadan, Oyo State to be witnessed by some topnotch professionals including the President of MFP, Dr Prince Oyebade Oyedepo, Dr Sileola Adebusola Akinbowale and many others.

Ever since the incident happened, there has been massive outpouring of condolence messages on the platform of MFP to mourn the departed member. He was described as a committed and active member of the group who still posted a message to the platform on Sunday morning, but unfortunately that was going to be his last to his colleagues.
The condolence message sent by the President of the group, Dr Prince Oyebade Oyedepo, FCA, JP read thus, “It is very painful that we lost a wonderful colleague in this manner. He was a wonderful personality, easy going, tolerant and brilliant professional accountant. He was very active and not docile on platform. He upheld the tenets of the profession to his last breadth”.
Oyebade continued, “The late colleague together with other members of the Institute were always ready to use their positions to promote the brand of ICAN at Fan Milk then. Those of us who were Chairmen of Ibadan & District Society of ICAN then can attest to the ever-ready nature of the deceased and those of his colleagues whenever we needed anything from FAN Milk. Even thereafter, they have maintained their loyalty and unwavering support to the profession particularly the ICAN brand.
No doubt, he was not hesitant to join us here to defend the professional rights of Chartered Accountants some years ago when we needed members the most. Unfortunately, he is no more here with us physically”.
The MFP President concluded by praying to Almighty Allah “to forgive him of his sins and grant him rest in heaven. May God preserve his home and grant them the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. May God also grant his colleagues, friends and associates the strength and courage to bear the loss”.
The late Mr Murtala Ahmed, FCA is a Chartered Accountant in his late 50s. He is survived by an aged mother, wife, children, brothers and sisters. He will be sorely missed by those who had the opportunity to interact with him during his lifetime.
