Who is a politician and political contractor? By Mutairu Iyiola

It is important to distinguish between a politician and a political contractor.

A politician builds structures, nurtures leaders, wins the confidence of the people, and earns responsibilities through years of service.

A political contractor, on the other hand, thrives on noise, propaganda, and opportunism.

It is both surprising and unfortunate that someone who has never risen to the level of a Ward Chairman would describe a former diplomat, former Deputy Governor, two-term Local Government Chairman, former South-West Zonal Chairman of the PDP, and a national leader with decades of proven political relevance as a “Division 3 player.”

Political relevance is measured by service, experience, loyalty, leadership, and the respect earned across generations—not by loud rhetoric or media headlines.

History cannot be rewritten by insults.

Records remain stronger than opinions, and true political stature is defined by enduring contributions, not by temporary attention.
