‎Four political appointees in Ogbomoso North Local Government Area of Oyo State have resigned from their respective positions under Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration, while the Chairman of the PDP/APM Alliance in the local government, Jimoh Sikiru Idowu, has also stepped down.
    ‎
‎The affected government officials are the Supervisory Councillor for Intergovernmental Relations, Oluwaseyi Stephen Ajamu; Supervisor for Environmental, Hon. Raimi Fatai Ayilara; and two Special Assistants to the Executive Chairman, Hon. Mustapha Risikat Temilade and Hon. Rabiat Bose Aliyu.
    ‎
‎Their resignations were communicated in separate letters dated November 2, 2026, addressed to the Executive Chairman of Ogbomoso North Local Government, while Idowu addressed his resignation letter to the executives of the PDP/APM Alliance in the local government.
    ‎
‎Ajamu, who served as Supervisory Councillor for Intergovernmental Relations, announced his resignation with immediate effect, expressing appreciation for the opportunity to serve and contribute to the administration’s objectives.
    ‎
‎He also acknowledged the trust and support extended to him throughout his tenure.
    ‎
‎Similarly, Ayilara, Temilade and Aliyu announced their voluntary resignations from their respective positions.
    ‎
‎In their letters, they expressed gratitude to Governor Seyi Makinde for the opportunity to serve, acknowledging the confidence and leadership that made their appointments possible.
    ‎
‎The three former appointees also appreciated the local government leadership, management and staff for their cooperation, support and understanding throughout their periods of service.
    ‎
‎They wished the administration continued success in its efforts to serve the people.
    ‎
‎Meanwhile, Idowu, in his letter titled Letter of Resignation as PDP/APM Alliance Party Chairman, said his decision followed careful reflection and consultations, adding that he believed it was in the best interest of the party and his personal commitments at the time.
    ‎
‎He expressed appreciation to party executives, stakeholders and members for the opportunity to lead the alliance in Ogbomoso North, noting that the party made progress in grassroots mobilisation, unity and representation during his tenure.
    ‎
‎He also promised to ensure a smooth handover of all party documents, assets and records in his custody to the appropriate authority.
    ‎
‎The latest departures come amid a series of resignations by political appointees and other officials serving under Makinde’s administration, with the latest developments in Ogbomoso North adding to the growing number of exits from the state government.
    ‎
‎However, the affected officials did not disclose any specific political or administrative circumstances behind their individual decisions.
