The Chairman Oyo State Hospital Management Board (OYSHMB), Hon. Adekunle Bankole, has inspected healthcare facilities in Ikoyi, Iresadu and Ogbomoso as part of efforts to assess their operational conditions and strengthen healthcare delivery across the state.
The inspection exercise, which took place on Friday, provided an opportunity for the Board chairman to evaluate the state of facilities, interact with healthcare personnel and identify challenges affecting service delivery in the hospitals.
Speaking on the exercise, Hon. Bankole said the visits were aimed at assessing the available facilities and understanding the challenges confronting the hospitals in the discharge of their responsibilities.
According to him, the inspection covered hospitals in Ikoyi, Iresadu and the General Hospital in Ogbomoso, where he personally examined the facilities and engaged with personnel on the ground.
He said the exercise was also intended to obtain firsthand information about the operational difficulties facing the institutions and identify areas requiring attention to improve the quality of healthcare services.
”We inspected their facilities and inquired about their challenges,” the chairman said, emphasising the importance of understanding the realities confronting healthcare providers at the various facilities.
Hon. Bankole further charged medical personnel and other health workers to demonstrate greater commitment and dedication to their duties, stressing that effective healthcare delivery requires professionalism and a strong sense of responsibility.
”We charged them to discharge their duties with commitment and dedication,” he stated, urging the workers to remain focused on providing quality services to patients who depend on public healthcare facilities.
He noted that the expectations placed on healthcare workers are consistent with the Oyo State Government’s investment in the health sector and Governor Seyi Makinde’s continued interest in improving healthcare delivery across the state.
The chairman reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to monitoring the performance of hospitals under its supervision, assessing their needs and encouraging personnel to ensure that government investments translate into improved healthcare services for residents.
