Determined to reduce the incessant carnage in his council area, the caretaker chairman, Afijio West LCDA, Hon Sunday Akindele Ojo on Friday said work has started at Ilora International Trailer Park

The park, which has the capacity to accommodate one 100 trailers, was approved by by Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde for trailer drivers who are in the habit of parking along the highway.

    Speaking with GOALPOACHER NEWS,
Akindele said clearing the park would serve as the foundation unit of the main park.
The council boss said, “The totality of what we are doing is to see the possibility of moving the trailers off the road. Any moment from now, you will see them move. We are almost ready with our trailer park and they are moving there.”

The chairman called on drivers to comply fully with the government’s directives in order to achieve the desired objective, adding that members of the association are law abiding.

However, more roads were graded from Ilora to Obanoko which covers about five kilometres. Another road was graded from Onikoko village through Alafara which borders Afijio with Oyo East Local Government which is about 18 kilometres
