Makinde Places Oyo on Developmental Path Using Relevant SDGs Targets to Stabilize Economy– SDG Boss.
The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Makinde on Sustainable Development Goals, Hon Kunle Yusuf MON has lauded Governor Makinde’s scientific approach to curtail the negative effects the Coronavirus could have had on the state’s economy.
Hon Yusuf stated this while engaging Representatives of Civil Society Organizations on SDGs Basic Education. He said,
“Even in the means of COVID-19 Epedemic, Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration is still consistent with various investments on Education, Agriculture, Gennder Sensitivity, most especially his deposition towards Trafficking of Nigerians stranded in Lebanon.”
“SDGs Targets on this : 1.2, 2.3, 8.2
The SDGs Global Agenda 2030 has stated that in 10years, there will be clear reductions at least by half the proportion of men, women and children of all ages living in Poverty in all its Dimensions.”
“By 2030, it will double the agricultural productivity and the incomes of small-scale food producers, particularly women, indigenous peoples, family farmers, pastoralists and fishers, including through secure and equal access to land, other productive resources and inputs, knowledge, financial services, markets, and opportunities for value addition and non-farm employment Related Thematic Areas”
“Furthermore, these goals will achieve higher levels of productivity of world. economy through diversification, technological upgrade and innovation, with a focus on high value added and labour-intensive sectors.”
“Judging by the Programs available to the masses, Governor Seyi Makinde is among the few Governor’s in Nigeria that his administration four cardinal agenda is completely centered around 17 SDGs Global Agenda 2030.” Yusuf concluded.
