MOBILIZATION FEE IS DELAYING 33,000 FG SPECIAL WORK IN OYO- OPE SALAMI
The Chairman of the Selection Committee for the Extended Special Work Programme of the Federal Government in Oyo State, Hon Ope Salami has disclosed that prospective Applicants for the itinerant job have not been able to obtain form at their various local government headquarters contrary to the promise earlier made because his Committee has not been given mobilization fund by the Federal government.
Salami made this disclosure while responding to enquiries from Aanuoluwapo Omorinde the Anchor of BOTTOM LINE on IBR 92.5fm Ibadan about the rationale behind the delay in the selection process of a job that was designed to start in October.
According to him “what we have is logistics problem which bothers on fund.”
When asked if the fund is being expected from the State or Federal government, Hon Salami said the fund expected is from the federal government. He however expressed optimism that his Committee is expecting feedback this week.
On when those who are interested in the programme can revisit their local government headquarters to obtain the application form for the job, he said his Committee will make announcement when it is time.
He revealed that the selection Committee is working with the State government to ensure that the process is a credible one.
It would be recalled that the Muhammadu Buhari led government had hinted of plans to engage 1,000 casual workers in each of the 774 local government areas across the Country to cushion the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on the less privileged in Nigeria.
He asked the people not to express doubt about genuineness of the programme adding that nothing has shown that the programme will not take off as scheduled.
