The Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo, and Delta States, Alhaji Dawud Makanjuola Akinola, popularly known as De-Damak, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the 33 newly elected local government chairmen in Oyo State.

This gesture comes ahead of their inauguration ceremony, scheduled to be held on Friday by His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, at the House of Chiefs, Secretariat, Ibadan.

In a commendable act of generosity, De-Damak has donated a total sum of N3.5 million, which translates to N100,000 for each of the 33 local government chairmen. This donation is intended to support and celebrate their upcoming inauguration.

De-Damak expressed his congratulations and best wishes to the chairmen, acknowledging their electoral victory and the significant responsibility they bear in leading their respective local governments. He emphasized the importance of their roles in driving development and fostering good governance at the grassroots level.

The elected chairmen are set to be sworn in by Governor Makinde, who has been lauded for his commitment to decentralizing governance and empowering local administrations.

The ceremony at the House of Chiefs will mark the beginning of their official duties, as they embark on their journey to serve the people of Oyo State.

De-Damak’s donation is a testament to his support for grassroots leadership and his belief in the potential of these new chairmen to bring about positive change in their respective councils. His financial contribution aims to ease the burden of the inauguration celebrations, allowing the chairmen to focus on their new responsibilities with greater ease.

This act of goodwill has been well-received across the state, highlighting De-Damak’s enduring commitment to community development and his role as a leader who supports and uplifts those in positions of governance.

As the 33 chairmen prepare to take their oaths of office, they do so with the encouragement and backing of prominent figures like De-Damak, whose support underscores the collaborative spirit needed to achieve meaningful progress in Oyo State.
