In a blend of faith, family and tradition, prominent Ibadan Mogaji and respected Oyo State politician, Mogaji Abass Oloko, has embarked on a spiritual journey to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the holy pilgrimage of Umrah, accompanied by his wives.
Known for his involvement in community affairs and public life, Oloko has continued to combine his traditional responsibilities with his engagement in the political and social development of Oyo State.
The spiritual journey offers the Ibadan Mogaji an opportunity to step away from the demands of public life and devote time to prayer, reflection and seeking the mercy and guidance of Almighty Allah.
Oloko made the journey alongside his wives, Saki Omolara Oloko, Olabisi Balikis Oloko, Morenike Oloko and Rofiat Oloko, as the family joined Muslims from different parts of the world in undertaking the sacred rites of Umrah.
Speaking on the significance of the pilgrimage, Oloko described the journey as an opportunity to strengthen his faith, express gratitude to Allah and seek divine guidance for himself, his family and the wider society.
“This journey is not merely about travelling to a holy land; it is a time for reflection, gratitude and seeking the mercy and guidance of Almighty Allah,” he said.
He also called for continued prayers for peace, unity and prosperity in Nigeria, urging citizens to remain committed to values that promote compassion, harmony and service to humanity.
“We shall continue to pray for our families, our people, Oyo State and Nigeria. May Allah accept our worship, grant our prayers and bring peace, progress and prosperity to our land,” Oloko added.
As Mogaji Abass Oloko and his wives continue their sacred journey, the pilgrimage is expected to provide the family with cherished moments of worship, reflection and renewed spiritual commitment, while carrying the hopes and prayers of their loved ones and community with them.
