The Allied People’s Movement (APM) is set to hold its governorship primary election exercise on Thursday, May 28, 2026, in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, as preparations intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections.



Additionally, primary elections will conducted across the 14 Federal Constituencies and 32 state Constituencies to Senatorial and House of Representatives candidates as well as House of Assembly candidates.
Affirmation is scheduled to take place at the Watershed Event Centre, at 2PM. The event is expected to attract party faithful, stakeholders, supporters, and members of the media from across the state.
The primary election exercise will feature prominent figures within the party, including Bimbo Adekanmbi, who has emerged as the consensus governorship candidate on the platform of the APM.
The exercise is aimed at demonstrating the party’s readiness to strengthen its structure and expand its political influence ahead of the next electoral cycle in Oyo State.
Also expected at the event is Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, described by party supporters as a potential 2027 APM presidential hopeful.
His anticipated presence has already generated discussions among political observers and party members, who view the gathering as a significant development in the state’s political landscape.
Similarly, Supporters of Bimbo Adekanmbi have continued to express confidence in his leadership qualities, describing him as a candidate with the experience and vision needed to move Oyo State forward.
According to party officials, the APM remains committed to promoting credible leadership and people-oriented governance capable of addressing the needs of citizens across the state.
