It was a moment of pride and celebration in Igboora, Ibarapa Central Local Government as the newly reconstructed ultra-modern Palace of the Olu of Igboora executed under the leadership of the Executive Chairman, Hon. Olusola Adeleke was officially commissioned yesterday.

The commissioning was performed by the Honourable Member representing Ibarapa Central/North Federal Constituency, Hon. Adebayo Adepoju who commended the Chairman for delivering a landmark project that reflects a strong commitment to cultural preservation and infrastructural development.

The event attracted a large gathering of traditional rulers from across Ibarapa and beyond, alongside community leaders, dignitaries and residents, all of whom came to witness the historic occasion and celebrate the transformation of the revered palace.

Speaking on the significance of the project, Hon. Olusola Adeleke emphasized that the reconstruction of the palace was a deliberate effort by his administration to uphold the dignity of traditional institutions and strengthen their role in promoting peace, unity, and community development.

“This project is a symbol of our respect for our heritage and our determination to modernize our traditional institutions while preserving their cultural essence,” the Chairman stated.

Hon. Adeleke also acknowledged the visionary leadership and continuous support of the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, whose administration has consistently prioritized grassroots development and respect for traditional institutions across the state.

In the same vein, the Executive Chairman extended warm congratulations to His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Jimoh Olajide Titiloye Asoroolu Ayinla V, the Olu of Igbo-Ora Land, Permanent Chairman of the Ibarapa Central Traditional Council and Deputy Chairman of the Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs on his conferment with an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Leadership Management by Foxford University, Canada.

He described the honour as well-deserved, noting that it is a recognition of the monarch’s exemplary leadership, visionary contributions, and commitment to the growth and development of his people.

“This recognition is not only a personal achievement for Kabiyesi but also a proud moment for the entire Ibarapa land. His Royal Majesty has consistently demonstrated wisdom, leadership and dedication to the progress of our communities,” the Chairman added.

The dual celebration of the palace commissioning and the conferment of the honorary doctorate added great significance to the occasion, highlighting both infrastructural advancement and the recognition of impactful leadership.

In attendance were the Alajawa of Ajawa, the Eleruwa of Eruwa, the Onjo of Saki, the Asigangan of Igangan, the Onilala of Lanlate, the Onidere of Idere, the Olu Aso of Iberekodo, the Baba Aso of Iberekodo Igbole, the Onisagaun of Sagaun, the Elempe of Tapa, the Asawo of Ayete, the Onidofin of Idofin, the Special Adviser to Governor Makinde on Constituency Matters, Hon.
