The House of Representatives candidate of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) for Akinyele/Lagelu Federal Constituency, Engr. Toheeb Adegoke, popularly known as ADLAT, has congratulated the Executive Chairman of Akinyele Local Government, Hon. Akinwole Akinleye, on his second anniversary in office, describing his leadership as one that has remained visible, people-oriented and deeply connected to the grassroots.

In a statement released to mark the occasion, ADLAT applauded the chairman for what he called “two years of consistency, sacrifice and commitment to the people,” noting that leadership at the grassroots level comes with enormous pressure and responsibility.

According to him, Hon. Akinwole Akinleye has continued to show that true leadership is not about occupying a position, but about remaining accountable and accessible to the people who entrusted him with power.

“Politics becomes meaningful when leaders remain close to the people after elections. That is where the real work begins,” ADLAT stated.

“In these two years, Hon. Akinwole Akinleye has shown that leadership is beyond occupying an office. The people want a leader they can see, speak to and identify with, and that consistency is something many people have acknowledged about his administration.”

The APM Reps candidate noted that local government administration remains the closest level of government to the people, making it impossible for any chairman to hide from the realities facing the grassroots.

He added that despite the demands, criticisms and political distractions that often come with public office, the chairman has continued to demonstrate calmness, maturity and dedication to governance.

ADLAT further stressed that leadership should not only be judged by political activities alone, but by the willingness of leaders to carry the burden of responsibility daily while remaining accountable to the people who entrusted them with power.

“Anyone who truly understands governance at the grassroots level knows it is not easy. Every day comes with new expectations, new challenges and different responsibilities. Yet, you have continued to stand firm and keep the system moving. That deserves respect,” he added.

He also described the chairman’s journey in the last two years as one of sacrifice and commitment to the growth of Akinyele Local Government, while expressing optimism that the remaining years of the administration would record even greater achievements.

ADLAT concluded by praying for strength, wisdom and divine guidance for Hon. Akinwole Akinleye as he continues to pilot the affairs of the local government.

“On behalf of my political associates and supporters across Akinyele/Lagelu Federal Constituency, I congratulate Hon. Akinwole Akinleye on this milestone. May God continue to strengthen him and grant him greater wisdom to keep serving the people effectively,” the statement concluded.
