The founder of Ecolerite Institute of Peace Advancement, Dr (Amb) Akande Babatunde Kazeem, has facilitated a peace, leadership, and strategy seminar for local lawmakers and stakeholders in Oyo state.

The training was borne out of his desire to ensure that local lawmakers and stakeholders understand the rudiments of leadership especially in peacebuilding and conflict management.

The scope of the seminar extended to insights on policy formulation and implementation.

The training was attended by prospective councilors from several local governments in Oyo state.

Also present at the seminar were student leaders, community leaders, and Rotarians.

While speaking to news correspondents at the event, Akande noted that the major issue the legislative arm has at every level is a lack of adequate knowledge in policy formulation and implementation.

Akande continued that his sojourn to the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies has helped him to gain insights into effective and efficient leadership, and he has pledged to ensure he shares this knowledge with all who care to learn.

The participants of the events were elated by the volume of knowledge that was passed in the short period. Speaking at the event, the Education Secretary of Ido Local Government, Alh. Comrade Bukola Mumini appreciated the gesture of Dr (Amb) Akande Kazeem Babatunde highlighting that developing the capacity of lawmakers can aid in better representation and improve the performance of public officials.

Also present at the event was the past president of Rotary Club of Ibadan Challenge who is a public speaker and talent manager, Dr. Kunle Awotiku.

He shared insights on leadership and team development while encouraging lawmakers to ensure that they perform in the best interest of the people when they eventually get to office.

Dr. Tayo Olagunju further shared general opinions on team development and human management. He admonished potential lawmakers to ensure that team building is part of their core strategy in delivering their mandate.

Dr. Akande rounded up the training by admonishing the government to invest in public officials by sending them for either the short or long course at the Nigeria Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies.

He opined that people who have the opportunity to visit there will impact many who are in public service.
