Political momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections received a significant boost as members of the Egede Community in Akanran paid a courtesy visit to the Okanlomo Oodua and Gbonka Olubadan of Ibadanland, Chief (Engr.) Jubril Dotun Sanusi (JDS).
The community members, led by Hon. Gabriel Egena, used the occasion to declare their support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and express their backing for the emergence of Senator Sharafadeen Alli as Governor of Oyo State in 2027.
The visit provided an opportunity for the community to engage with Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi on issues of political participation, grassroots mobilisation and the future direction of Oyo State.
Speaking during the engagement, the community representatives said their decision to support the Tinubu and Alli agenda was driven by their belief in continuity at the federal level and the need for effective representation and leadership in Oyo State.
The large turnout further highlighted the growing political consciousness and mobilisation among grassroots communities in Akanran and beyond.
Supporters of the movement described the gathering as another indication of the expanding network of community, market and grassroots stakeholders rallying around the political aspirations of President Tinubu and Senator Sharafadeen Alli ahead of 2027.
The engagement also reaffirmed Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi’s growing role in facilitating dialogue and political engagement with communities across Oyo State.
