…Unites Fictionalized Islamic Body In Oluyole LG

The Executive Chairman of Oluyole Local Government, Engr. Akeem Olatunji, has laid the foundation for the construction of a new Police Station cited at Oke-Ogbere to enhance security in the area.

The foundation laying ceremony held earlier in the week.

Members of Oke-Ogbere Community spearheaded the construction project as part of community development support initiative to compliment efforts of the Council Chairman to reposition Oluyole for economic development.

Recall that Olatunji had also earlier in the week commissioned a remodeled ultra modern Grade A Customary Court, multipurpose administrative complex, Amotekun headquarters, and other projects with modern facilities to commemorate his first 100 days in office as the executive chairman of Oluyole LG.

According to the LG boss, the move was geared towards strengthening security at the grassroots in line with one of the four cardinal pillars–security, upon which governor Seyi Makinde’s administration was built to ensure safety of lives and properties of all residents in the council.

While expressing the commitment to deepen collaboration with security agencies in Oluyole Local Government, Olatunji maintained that the new police station, when completed, would enhance community policing and reduce response times in the area.

During the foundation-laying ceremony, Olatunji emphasized the importance of modern infrastructure in supporting effective policing noting that issues of security should not be perceived by the public as the sole responsibility of the police.

He stated that police personnel are also human beings with family members and loved ones. He stressed that except government institutions, organized private sector players, members of the public were ready to play their parts as partners in progress, the desired results of adequate security may be elusive.

“This new police station is not just a building; it’s a symbol of our commitment to creating a safer community for everyone resident or doing business in Oluyole local government.

“This has been part of our top priority upon assumption of office and this is evident in the pervasive adequate security and zero record of kidnapping, banditry or armed robbery in Oluyole local government since our administration came on board.

“Our leader and political father, His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, is a pragmatic, proactive and visionary leader and as such, we as his political disciples can not afford to fail or do otherwise than to fully key into his laudable sustainabile development agenda.

The foundation laying for the construction of a new police station was widely welcomed by residents of Oke-Ogbere community and its adjoining environs, who have long clamoured for improved law enforcement presence in the area.

Similarly, Olatunji also facilitated the unification of the four fictionalized Islamic body, the Oluyole League of Imams and Alfas.

The apex Muslim group were prior to their coming together in unity, been divided into four different group with each operating independently of others within Oluyole LG.

The previously factionalized Muslim organization has however, accepted and have since come together work in unity under the leadership of Sheikh Fadilah Taliat, who is the Chief Imam of Oluyole LG.

According to Olatunji, his deliberate efforts which culminated into the unification of the Muslim body was targeted at promoting greater cohesion and collaborative efforts among various Islamic organizations in Oluyole LG.

“Uniting our Islamic leaders in Oluyole is crucial for promoting a spirit of togetherness and mutual respect devoid of personal sentiments.

“Their unity is very crucial to our grassroots development drive because of the important role the League of Imams and Alfas play in our society as a religious body.

“We could see across the state that Governor Seyi Makinde has equally been pragmatic in his approach to religious matters which has birthed an unprecedented era of peaceful coexistence and religious harmony in the state. We can not afford to deviate from such part at the grassroots level.

“Being able to unite them has brought me great joy and a sense of fulfillment as the council chairman and we hope to continue to consolidate on this feat to open up Oluyole for economic prospects and opportunities that would engender economic development,” Olatunji said.

Present at the foundation laying ceremony for the construction of a new police station were the lawmaker representing Oluyole state constituency at the State House of Assembly, Honorable Waheed Akintayo, Special Assistant to the Governor on Oluyole federal constituency, members of Oluyole LG Legislative House, top local government functionaries, Oke-Ogbere community leaders, and members.
