The Executive Chairman of Akinyele Local Government, Hon. Wole Akinleye, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to youth development, pledging support for members of the Oyo State Youth Parliament representing Akinyele I and II State Constituencies during a courtesy visit to his office.

‎The visit was led by Hon. Victor Ayomide, representing Akinyele I State Constituency, alongside Hon. Olanrewaju Fathia, who represents Akinyele II State Constituency in the 3rd Assembly of the Oyo State Youth Parliament.

‎Speaking after the meeting, Hon. Victor Ayomide described the reception by the council chairman as warm, fatherly and encouraging, saying it reflected the chairman’s genuine passion for nurturing young leaders and promoting youth participation in governance.

‎”One of the greatest things that can happen to any leader who is genuinely passionate about service is to have the support of experienced leaders who believe in the vision and are willing to provide guidance. For me, Tuesday, July 7, 2026, was one of such remarkable days,” Ayomide said.

‎He noted that discussions during the visit centred on strategies to advance youth development in Akinyele Local Government, adding that the chairman encouraged them to remain committed to leadership, service and community development.

‎”From the moment we arrived, we were received with warmth, kindness and genuine fatherly affection. Beyond the reception, what stood out was the chairman’s willingness to listen, encourage and support the vision we have for the youth of Akinyele,” he stated.

‎According to Ayomide, Hon. Akinleye assured the youth parliamentarians of the local government’s readiness to partner with them and provide the necessary support to ensure that their initiatives translate into meaningful opportunities and sustainable development for young people across the council area.

‎The lawmaker said the assurance had strengthened his confidence in the ability of young leaders and government to work together in addressing challenges confronting youths through advocacy, collaboration, capacity development and impactful programmes.

‎”The chairman encouraged us to remain focused, committed and intentional in carrying out our responsibilities. More importantly, he assured us that Akinyele Local Government is ready to work with us and provide the necessary support to ensure our efforts translate into meaningful development for our young people,” he said.

‎Ayomide reaffirmed his commitment to fulfilling the mandate entrusted to him at the Oyo State Youth Parliament, stressing that collaboration with government institutions, community leaders and youth organisations would remain central to his representation.

‎He also expressed appreciation to Governor Seyi Makinde for creating opportunities for young people to participate in governance through the Oyo State Youth Parliament. He equally commended the Chairman of the Oyo State Agency for Youth Development, Prince Falana Adebowale, for his leadership and commitment to strengthening youth engagement across the state.

‎Ayomide further acknowledged the contributions of Mr. Dayo Opatokun, Mr. Oyeniran Kunle and other associates of the Akinyele Local Government chairman for their dedication to the growth and development of the council area.

‎”This visit is only the beginning. In the coming weeks, I will embark on a series of engagements with youth organisations, community leaders and relevant stakeholders across Akinyele I to deepen collaboration, encourage meaningful dialogue and work collectively towards practical solutions that will improve the lives of our young people. With the support of our leaders and the people of Akinyele, I am confident we can achieve lasting development,” Ayomide said.

‎The visit underscored the growing collaboration between elected youth representatives and local government authorities in advancing youth-focused policies and programmes.

‎It also reinforced a shared commitment to fostering inclusive governance, empowering young people and creating sustainable opportunities that will contribute to the socio-economic development of Akinyele Local Government and Oyo State at large.
