The Executive Chairman of Ibadan South East Local Government, Hon. Emmanuel Oluwole Alawode, has felicitated teachers across Nigeria on the occasion of the 2026 World Teachers’ Day, describing them as indispensable builders of the nation’s future.



Hon. Alawode commended teachers for their unwavering commitment, patience and sacrifice in nurturing young minds and shaping future leaders, despite the numerous challenges confronting the education sector.


He noted that teaching goes beyond imparting knowledge, stressing that teachers play a critical role in instilling discipline, morals, confidence and the values required to build a responsible and prosperous society.




The Chairman said his administration recognises the important role of teachers in grassroots development and remains committed to supporting initiatives that promote quality education and improve the welfare of education stakeholders within Ibadan South East Local Government.


He further called on teachers to continue to uphold the noble ideals of their profession, assuring them that their contributions to the development of society will continue to be valued and appreciated.
“Every successful society is built upon the dedication of teachers who prepare the minds that will lead it tomorrow. We celebrate your sacrifices, resilience and invaluable contributions to our communities and our nation.” He affirmed.
The Chairman wished all teachers a happy and rewarding World Teachers’ Day, praying for greater strength, fulfilment and success in their noble service to humanity.
