The Special Adviser to Oyo State Governor on Housing and Urban Development, Hon Olakunle Akinsete, has expressed deep appreciation to all stakeholders, partners, and participants who contributed to the success of the 2025 Oyo State Real Estate Conference held in Ibadan on Wednesday.
In a statement, Akinsete described the conference as “a landmark engagement that reflects the governor’s vision to position Oyo State as the next major destination for real estate investment and economic growth in Nigeria.”
The event, which took place at Jogor Event Centre, Ibadan, was organised by the Office of the Special Adviser in collaboration with the Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria (REDAN), Oyo State Chapter, under the theme, “Real Estate and Economic Development in Oyo State: Strategies for Success.”
Akinsete commended REDAN and other industry stakeholders for their strong partnership with the government in advancing policies and ideas that promote sustainable housing development across the state.
“On behalf of His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, I sincerely thank everyone who attended, participated, and contributed to the success of this conference.”
“The robust discussions and innovative ideas shared will undoubtedly help shape the next phase of real estate and urban development in Oyo State,” Akinsete said.
He noted that Governor Makinde’s administration remained committed to creating a conducive environment for private sector participation, infrastructural expansion, and housing reforms that improve the quality of life for residents.
“This administration understands that housing and urban development are key to economic prosperity. We will continue to strengthen collaboration with professional bodies, developers, and investors to deliver projects that meet global standards,” he added.
Akinsete also appreciated the keynote speakers, panellists, and participants for their “constructive engagements and forward-thinking contributions,” while assuring that outcomes from the conference will be translated into actionable policies.
“We look forward to sustaining this partnership beyond the conference, as we jointly build a more prosperous and inclusive Oyo State,” he concluded.
The 2025 edition also focused on the need for developers to adhere strictly to government policies and masterplan when embarking on real estate projects in the state.
The 2025 Real Estate Conference brought together policy experts, developers, investors, academics, and government officials, offering a strategic platform to explore innovative solutions and opportunities within Oyo State’s growing property sector.
