One of the significant milestones Governor Seyi Makinde’s vision was the flag off of the 11 MW Hybrid Power Plant, poised for imminent completion in Ibadan.
This ambitious project is set to provide power to various government facilities within the Oyo State Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan, and its surroundings.
Upon completion, the 11 MW hybrid power solution will be a game-changer, benefiting:
1. Healthcare Facilities: It will power 12 healthcare facilities, including Adeoyo Maternity Teaching Hospital and State Hospital Ring Road. The state government has invested substantially in state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment equipment at these hospitals, with a direct impact on approximately 15,622 patients annually.
2. Public Lighting: This Independent Power Producer (IPP) will also illuminate a radius of no less than 10 km under the ‘Light-Up Oyo’ project, creating safer and more vibrant public spaces.
