The Olasole of LASOLE kingdom, Oba Dairo Jacob Olutayo Fadairo 1 has identified sports as a critical tool that can unite the nation.
According to Oba Dairo, tribalism, cultural and differences, banditry, kidnapping and vandalism would become a thing of the past while the whole nation would focus on the success of their competitors (players) in any sporting competition.
“If they win, the whole nation takes the glory and if otherwise the whole nation would take it as it comes and starts to prepare for the subsequent competition.”
The Monarch, Oba Dairo Jacob confirmed this at the just concluded National schools sports competition (under 15) held at the MKO Abiola National stadium Abuja which was organized by the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF), Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and Nigeria School Sports Federation (NSSF).
The Monarch had earlier performed the kick off of the national final match between Enugu and Kano State
While congratulating Enugu State, the monarch advised the organizers to make judicious use of the talents discovered during the tournament and keep them on even after their encounter with their Ghanaian counterpart that is slated for Accra in Ghana and facilitate them in the under 17 championship.
Oba Fadairo further advised the players, coaches, coordinators and Directors of various sports to avoid age cheats that may affect the player’s Carrier in the future. He cited the example of the players that played with Messi at their early football Carrier are no more relevant in the field while Messi is still performing in his chosen career (football).
Oba Olasole who was appointed as Executive Secretary of Oyo SUBEB by Governor Seyi before his retirement charged individuals, communities, local, state governments and Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to imbibe sports developmental projects as a matter of duty.”
