A Chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party, Mogaji Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe has commended Governor Seyi Makinde for jettisoning the caretaker arrangement, a testimony to his commitment to participatory democracy and grassroot development.
In a statement signed by his media team, Tegbe noted that the proper transition from a set of elected chairmen to another set of elected chairmen is unprecedented in the current democratic dispensation, with former Governors preferring to appoint caretaker chairmen.
This departure from the undesirable trend is indeed commendable, and the success of the PDP candidates is a testimony to the Governor’s achievements.
In conclusion, Tegbe charged the new helmsmen to be focused on delivering dividends of democracy to the people.
As duly elected chairmen, the people of the state expect them to domesticate the progressive leadership of the Governor at the grassroot level and to improve the quality of lives of citizens.
He urged them to give priority to projects and programmes that address the felt needs of the people.
