In a heartwarming demonstration of compassion and responsive leadership, the Executive Chairman of Ibarapa North Local Government, Hon. Lawal Lateef Akorede, has distributed food items and cash gifts to no fewer than 100 aged women across the local government area.

The distribution exercise, which spanned various communities in Ibarapa North, was aimed at supporting elderly women and easing the economic burden many of them face. Beneficiaries received essential food items alongside cash gifts to assist them in meeting their immediate needs.

Speaking during the exercise, Hon. Lawal Lateef reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the welfare of the people, particularly the elderly, who have contributed immensely to the development and growth of their communities over the years.

He noted that the initiative was being planned for the Ileya festive period, but he hesitated to proceed because of the kidnapped students, as his mind was with them and he prayed for their safety and quick release.

The Chairman emphasized that good governance must be people-centered and inclusive, assuring residents that his administration would continue to implement policies and programs that improve the living conditions of the populace.
Beneficiaries expressed profound gratitude to the Chairman for the thoughtful gesture, describing the intervention as timely and impactful. Many offered prayers for his continued success, good health, and wisdom in the discharge of his responsibilities.
The welfare package further underscores Hon. Lateef’s dedication to promoting social welfare, community development, and the well-being of residents across Ibarapa North Local Government. Through initiatives such as this, the administration continues to strengthen its bond with the people while fostering a culture of compassion, inclusiveness, and service.
