The Rotary club international has honoured the Deputy National Chairman (South) of the Peoples Democratic Party, Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja with Rotary “Icon of Humanity Service” Award.
The Award of honour bestowed on the former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Arapaja was part of the 120th anniversary of Rotary International held at the Rotary House, Iyaganku GRA, Ibadan yesterday.
According to the chairman planning committee of the occasion, Rotarian Musa Busari, the prestigious award is in recognition of Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja’s selfless contributions to humanity, dedication to service and commitment to making a positive impact in the society. These align with the values of Rotary International. “We are honoured to recognize your efforts and celebrate your achievements”. He said.
Some of the dignitaries that graced the occasion includes the Chairman, Local Government Staff Pension Board, Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige ; Hon. Modiu Opeyemi Akande, Hon. Olayinka Omikunle, lawmakers who are representing Ibadan South East Constituency 1 & 2 ; and Hon. Bamitale Ibrahim Personal Assistant to the Deputy national Chairman (South) PDP.
Arapaja stressed that the Award will ginger him to dedicate more time, energy and resources to the development of humanity and society as a whole.
“I appreciate Rotary International for counting me worthy in the selection for the Award. I will continue to dedicate my resources and energy to courses that promotes humanity and the advancement of the society” . He stressed.
