Our attention has been drawn to a statement credited to some individuals claiming to represent the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Ibadan South East Local Government, on the mandate of PDP, where they sought to affirm their loyalty to Governor Seyi Makinde while attempting to create the impression that their position reflects the political strength and relevance of Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja.
We wish to state unequivocally that Ambassador Arapaja is a national political leader whose influence, acceptance, and leadership transcend the boundaries of any single local government. His political relevance is not determined by the pronouncements of a few individuals or groups seeking to protect their own political interests.
True loyalty is demonstrated through consistency, sacrifice, and commitment—not by public declarations made when personal interests are at stake. Everyone is entitled to make political choices, but such decisions should not be presented as representing the collective will of those who have stood with Ambassador Arapaja over the years.
We remain confident that Ambassador Arapaja has consistently demonstrated maturity and political wisdom. Despite the numerous rumours and speculations making the rounds regarding his political future, he has maintained dignified silence. That alone reflects the quality of leadership he embodies. As loyal supporters, we have absolute confidence in his judgment and believe that whenever the time comes for him to make any political decision, he will do so in the overall interest of his supporters and the people he represents.
Whether some individuals choose to stay or leave, Ambassador Arapaja remains a leader to reckon with in Oyo State and across Nigeria. His political stature was built over decades of service, credibility, and grassroots acceptance—not on temporary alliances or endorsements driven by personal considerations.
Those who are genuinely loyal will continue to stand firmly with him, patiently awaiting his direction. Leadership is not measured by noise but by enduring influence, and Ambassador Arapaja has repeatedly proven that his leadership commands respect across political divides.
We therefore urge members of the public not to be distracted by statements intended to create unnecessary political narratives. Our resolve remains unshaken, and our confidence in Ambassador Arapaja remains absolute.
When the time is right, we shall move together under his leadership, as we have always done.
