Traditional rulers in Iwajowa Local Government Area of Oyo State have pledged to continue to work with the state government to achieve Governor Seyi Makinde’s agenda for the development of the state’s solid minerals sector.

Iwajowa, which is regarded as the home of different types of mineral deposits in the state, is blessed with a landmass which covers about 30% of the Mineralized zones.

Recognising the potentials in the town, the traditional rulers during an event facilitated by the Executive Chairman of The Pacesetter Mineral Development Company, Okunrinjeje Abiodun Oni and the Executive Chairman of Iwajowa Local Government, Hon Oyinloye Jelili Adebare pledged their commitments to the progress and advancement of economic development in Oyo State via solid mineral development.

In a separate but similar event in Ofiki, Atisbo Local government area, the Aare Ofiki of Ofikii Ile, Oba Adeoye Adigun, led some other notable baales to sign letter of consent as it concerned their communities.

The monarch promised to always support the people-centered socio-economic programs of the Makinde led administration.

In their various remarks during the separate events, the traditional rulers and other stakeholders present bemoaned the illegal operations of the miners in Oke Ogun zone and Oyo State in general, charging the State government to continue to fully engage the traditional rulers to implement the newly signed executive order by His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde.

Okunrin Jeje Abiodun Oni seized the opportunity to advise and implore the kings, Baales, landowners and other stakeholders of the Mineralized community to be good citizens of Oyo State and to key into the economic development agenda of Governor Oluwaseyi Abiodun Makinde by cooperating with the government, so they can tap into the immeasurable rewards possible for the immediate community and the good people of Oyo State.

Oni told newsmen that two mining companies and some Baales are being investigated by the State government for allegedly presenting falsified letter of consent and signing letters of consent out of their jurisdiction. This he said the government would do everything possible to bring sanity into mining operations in Oyo State.

At the unprecedented event which took place at Iwere Ile in Iwajowa Local Government, the traditional rulers took turn to sign letters of consent to The Pacesetter Mineral Development Company (PMDC).

“This act of patriotism and commitment to the people and the State in general empowers PMDC to explore the potentials of the mineral deposits vested there for the good people of Oyo state,” remarked Oni the Executive Chairman of PMDC.

Oni implore the other stakeholders to emulate the patriotism and commitment this Obas and Baales has shown to the growth and development of our commonwealth
