Updated:Olubadan Present as Makinde Flags Off Iwo-Road Bus Terminal Projects

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has reiterated the commitment of his administration towards
infrastructural development of the state.

Makinde who stated this on Friday, while flagging off the construction of two Ultra-modern bus terminals at Iwo road interchange, Ibadan, said his administration would continue executing projects that would enhance economic growth and infrastructural development of the state.

GOALPOACHER NEWS recalls that the governor, on May 5, approved the award of the contract for the construction of four Ultra-modern bus terminals in Iwo road, Challenge area, Ojoo and New Ife road.

On the significance of the projects, Governor Makinde said the project would redefine the skyline of the state capital after completion.

He noted that Iwo road was a meeting point in Nigeria, due to its connecting junctions, stressing that the interchange connects many roads and that the problem of traffic jam being experienced at the interchange would be a thing of the past.

He further stated that the bus terminals, would address security issues associated with the area and enhance the quality of life in the transport sector.

Makinde assured that all property owners whose structures were demolished would be adequately compensated and that they would be considered for shop allocation.

Earlier, Prof Raphael Afonja, said the Ultra bus terminal projects would be completed within 12 months.

Afonja disclosed that the project would incorporate restaurants, shops, automated teller machine(ATM) galleries and Cafe among others.

Dignitaries at the flag off ceremony include, Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty,Oba Saliu Adetunji, Deputy Governor, Rauf Olaniyan among others.
