In a historic ceremony marked by cultural splendour and inter-ethnic unity, the Okanlomo of Yorubaland, Ajia Olubadan of Ibadanland, and Chairman, Ilaji Group of Companies, Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi, was officially conferred with the revered chieftaincy title of “Eze Meganu OHA I of Rumuomasi”.

The prestigious honour was bestowed upon him by His Royal Highness, Eze Ezebunwo Geoffrey Adele JP, the respected traditional ruler of Rumuomasi in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, during a colourful and well-attended event that brought together dignitaries, traditional rulers, youth leaders, business moguls, and cultural enthusiasts from across Nigeria.

A Symbol of Unity and National Integration: This landmark installation of a Yoruba high chief into the Rumuomasi chieftaincy institution serves as a strong symbol of national integration and ethnic harmony, reflecting Chief Sanusi’s pan-Nigerian influence and commitment to peace, economic development, and cultural diplomacy.

Speaking at the ceremony, His Royal Highness, Eze Ezebunwo Geoffrey Adele, described Chief Sanusi as “a bridge-builder and a man of honour who has demonstrated unwavering commitment to youth empowerment, inter-regional collaboration, and community development across Nigeria.”

Chief Sanusi’s Legacy and Contributions: Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi, a highly respected industrialist, philanthropist, and cultural ambassador, is the visionary force behind Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort and a leading promoter of economic opportunities and social advancement in the South-West and beyond.

As the National Patron of the Yoruba Council of Youths Worldwide (YCYW) and a strong advocate for unity across ethnic lines, this recognition in Rivers State further affirms his growing national stature and the resonance of his Omoluabi values.

More Than a Title: A National Call to Service. In his acceptance speech, Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi (Eze Meganu OHA I) expressed gratitude to His Royal Highness and the entire Rumuomasi community for the honour. He pledged to continue working for the advancement of peace, unity, and youth development across Nigeria.

“This title is not just for me, but for all Nigerians who believe in oneness. It reminds us that despite our differences, we can build a prosperous future together,” he said.
