Children’s Day: Hon. Ramata Agberemi Dabo RAD Launches Games Lounge for Students in Ibadan, Inspired by Governor Makinde’s Wife

 

In celebration of Children’s Day, Hon. Ramata Agberemi Dabo (RAD), the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, has launched a new games lounge for students at a local school in Ibadan.

The initiative is targeted to provide a recreational space that fosters learning, creativity, and teamwork among students.

During the launch, Hon. RAD expressed her commitment to enhancing the educational experience for children in the region.

“It is essential that we create environments where our children can learn and play. The games lounge will serve as a hub for creativity and collaboration,” she stated.

Hon. RAD, who was represented at the event by Special Adviser to the Governor on Education Intervention, Honorable Tajudeen Tiamiyu and Olori Kobiowu Aminat Iyabo,made this known while addressing students, teachers, and parents, saying, “This is just the beginning. We plan to extend this initiative to more schools across Ibadan, ensuring that every child has access to recreational facilities that support their development.”

According to her, the games lounge is equipped with various educational games and activities aimed at enhancing cognitive skills and promoting healthy interactions among students.

“Play is a vital aspect of learning. Through these games, we hope to nurture critical thinking and teamwork in our children,” she remarked.

Hon. RAD also highlighted the importance of community support in her initiatives, adding, “I want to thank the school management for providing the space to erect the games lounge. Your collaboration has made this vision a reality.”

The school management lauded her efforts, with the principal stating, “We are grateful for this initiative.”

“It will not only enhance our students’ learning experience but also promote a sense of community and belonging among them.”

Hon. RAD expressed a desire for the wife of Governor Makinde to reflect on the initiative, noting how she has been an inspiration.

“Her support has shown me the way forward, and I am grateful for the introduction to Onokoya, the Guinness World Record holder, who has motivated me further in my commitment to our children’s development.”
