Executive Chairman of Akinyele Local Government, Hon Akinwole Akinleye Alongside his vice and Councilors with the Local Government Team took the sensitization Exercise and campaign on The prevention of Cholera to Different Markets within the local Government.
In his words, Hon Akinwole Akinleye stated the importance of maintaining Good hygiene especially during outbreaks of Diseases Like Cholera and also highlighted preventive measures and precautions to the disease.
“ We Appreciate The Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr Seyi Makinde for giving us a foundational perspective to curb the outbreak of this Deadly Disease. The strategies put in place by His Excellency to prevent the outbreak of this disease in Oyo state has spurred us on to take this sensitization to every nook and cranny of our dear Local Government.”
“We enjoin you all to maintain good hygiene at this crucial period. Regular Wash of hands with Soap and Clean Water especially before and After using the Toilet, Eat Food that is thoroughly cooked and still hot, Avoid raw or undercooked sea food and street food, Drink Only Safe, Clean Water, Boil Water or use Water Purification tablets if you are not sure of its quality And Also Ensure Proper Sanitation and disposal of Human waste to prevent contamination of Water sources.”
The Executive Chairman who moved with the team to the markets also assured the people of his commitment to ensure safety of lives and properties. He urged the people to join hands with the Environmental health team of the Local Government by strictly adhering to every measures put in place to curb the outbreak of Cholera within the local government. The Local Government Environmental health team also put in place accessible hand washing system within the markets that will aid the prevention of the disease.
Present at the Sensitization program include the Executive Vice Chairman, Hon Sakiru Akintunde, Councilors, The Chief of Staff to the Executive Chairman, Hon Aderinwale Adeyemi, The Head of Local Government Administration, Director of Administrative and General Services, Local Government Information Officer, Director of Environment, Market Leaders and Members Among Others.
