The Oyo State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Inclusion, Toyin Balogun has distributed thousands of bags of rice, chickens and cash gifts to residents in all the 33 local government areas of the state.
When interviewed by our correspondent, the Honourable Commissioner stated that everyone has a calling and hers is to wipe off the tears of her people by making life easier for them in any way possible particularly in these economically challenging times faced generally in our nation.
Also, she feels obligated to support what His Excellency is doing to improve the quality of lives lived by our people.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke with journalists during the exercise from her local government stated that Mrs Balogun had been extending this humanitarian outreach to the people of her local government, Ibadan North every year for the past six years, every festive season for both Christian and Muslim festivals.
However,this year, she decided to expand the scope of her outreach to touch as many people especially the vulnerable in the society comprising women,the elderly,persons with disabilities and Women Support Groups through their leaders in the 33 LGs and leaders of her LG with the distribution of rice,vegetable oil,chicken and cash gifts.
The beneficiaries showered prayers on her for making it possible for them to celebrate this year’s Christmas and named her a worthy apostle of Governor Seyi Makinde as she was following in his footsteps and determination to make life easy for the people of Oyo State.
