Christmas: Ibarapakan calls on citizens, leaders to embrace love for the good of all

As we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ today, I urge us all, as Nigerians, to emulate the unusual kindness and huge sacrifice that Jesus Christ paid for the sake of humanity.

We must learn that with love, companion, empathy, selflessness a world full of peace and prosperity is possible.

I call on the citizens of our beloved country, Nigeria, to continue to demonstrate uncommon patriotism to the ideals of nationalism in the interest of nation-building. We should collectively be seen to contribute our quota to the development, growth and well-being of Nigeria. Every individual has a responsibility to do their part, no matter how small, to help our nation progress and improve.

As leaders, we must understand that our influence is determined by the number of lives we touch and not the unnecessary accumulation of material things. What a body needs to function well and to live a life full of meaning is little. Let’s shun greed and avarice in our daily dealings.

True fulfilment comes from focusing on what truly matters rather than chasing after wealth or status symbols.

Jesus Christ, a martyr and saviour, paid the ultimate price for humanity, and after thousands of years, the world still remembers him. We may not necessarily be the Jesus Christ of this world, but we can also strive to make a real impact in the lives of everyone in our own small circle and register our name in a never-ageing book of life.

In the spirit of Christmas, we should all remember that what matters most in this life is the number of people who smile when they see, read, or hear our name, as our existence on earth is completely ephemeral.

Today goes beyond any specific religious doctrine—not about material gifts or even religious dogma, but rather about spreading joy and happiness to others.

Every person has the potential to be a messiah in their own way. Let’s emulate the kindness of Jesus Christ, regardless of social class or status. By embracing love and generosity in our everyday lives, we demonstrate Christlike behavior, these values are indeed the building blocks for creating a better world for everyone.

With love, a larger percent of the world’s problems are solved. May this occasion of Christmas, the Feast of the Nativity of our Lord, bring redemption and restore every broken relationship in Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, and throughout Nigeria.

Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year in Advance.
