Baale of Isajin Ibadan in Egbeda Local Government Area of Oyo State, Baale Kayode Bamiduro has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to immediately declare state of emergency on Power Sector in Nigeria.

The traditional ruler made the statement in a press release personally signed by him and made available to the press in Ibadan.

According to him, electricity supply in the country had gone from bad to worse in the last one year in the country and such situation needs to be addressed with all seriousness and energy by a responsible and responsive government.

“In Adegbayi Area we did not get 20 hours of electricity supply for the whole of one month put together”, he lamented.

Baale Bamiduro opined that though the present Administration can not be totally blamed for the malady but it also shares from the blame for watching the operators who are mostly private entrepreneurs non performance for too long.

He added that having worked in the Ministry of Power in the past he is aware that saboteurs were always at work to cause power outages for personal reasons but that Tinubu government should have moved faster to tackle the menace which is obviously counter productive to government’s economic policies.

The Baale expressed his confidence in Honorable Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu as capable to supervise the Ministry and condemned those calling for his removal, saying such call is political and can jeopardize the ongoing reforms in the sector.
