Professor Kehinde Sangodoyin, the Commissioner for Public Works and Transport in Oyo State, has expressed his deep sorrow following the passing of Engineer Sunday Makinde, the elder brother of Governor Seyi Makinde.

In a heartfelt statement, Professor Sangodoyin described Engineer Sunday Makinde’s death as a “rude shock” that has left a profound impact on him personally and professionally.

“I have known Engr Sunday Makinde for over 30 years. He was my good brother and dear friend,” Professor Sangodoyin stated. His long-standing relationship with the late engineer was marked by mutual respect and collaboration, particularly in initiatives that aimed to enhance the infrastructure and quality of life in Oyo State.

In his tribute, Professor Sangodoyin emphasized the significance of their friendship, recalling shared memories and the invaluable lessons learned from Engineer Sunday Makinde.

“His wisdom and guidance were instrumental in many of our projects. The void left by his absence will be felt deeply in our community,” he added.

In a show of respect and mourning, Professor Sangodoyin announced that he has canceled all his activities for the day to honour the memory of his dear brother and friend.

“Today, I stand in solidarity with the Makinde family, reflecting on a life well-lived and a legacy that will endure,” he remarked.

The Commissioner extended his sympathies to His Excellency Governor Seyi Makinde and the entire Makinde family during this difficult time.

“I sympathize with His Excellency and the entire Makinde family. May they find comfort in the love and support of those around them,” he concluded, urging the community to come together to celebrate Engineer Sunday Makinde’s life and contributions.
