The Dental Technologists Registration Board of Nigeria(DTRBN) led by the Registrar of the board,Mallam Idris Ahmad Bappah paid an official courtesy visit to the chairman of Oyo State Hospitals’ Management Board(OYSHMB),Dr Akin Fagbemi on how to explore opportunities for collaboration with the board.
In his keynote address,the Registrar of the DTRBN,Mallam Idris Bappah congratulated Dr Fagbemi on his appointment as the chairman of the board.
He praises the wealth of experience of the chairman which has been reflecting in the discharge of his duty to the board and the health family in particular.
Mallam Bappah also appealed for the increase in the number of student internship into the board so as to fostering a strong relationship between the Dental Registration Board of Nigeria and the OYSHMB.
He therefore plead with the board for training and retraining of Dental Technologists in the board so as to enhance and improve in their service delivery to the customers(Patients).
He further clamour for the involvement of the Dental Technologist in the recruitment and decision making in the board.
The chairman of the board (OYSHMB),Dr Fagbemi in his response said Dental Technologists played vital role in health care services to the state.
He further stated that his excellency Engr Oluseyi Makinde do not play with anything with regards to health care delivery to the good citizen of Oyo state under the sustainable health care system tagged Omi-Tuntun 2.0.
Dr Fagbemi also recalled that the governor of the state in his magnanimity during the Teacher’s day celebration promised to pay Seventy Thousand naira (#70,000) minimum wage as agreed upon by the Tripatite committee set up by Federal Government to look into the salary and wages of workers as a result of hardship created by the removal of Fuel subsidy by the government.
He therefore promised Mallam Bappah that all the issues brought up by him and his team will be looked into and necessary action will be taken effective service delivery to the citizen of the state.
The Permanent Secretary in the board,Dr Mrs Anifat Ibraheem appreciated the Dental Technologist and his team for their visit and therefore reassured the board(DTRBN) of the support of OYSHMB anytime the need arises.
In the entourage with the chairman of DTRBN,Mallam Idris Bappah is Alh. Gbadamosi AbdulAzeez of the Faculty of Dentist,College of Medicine UCH Ibadan and Mr Isola Oluwole,the current chairman of the DTRBN,Oyo state chapter.
