Dr. Fagbemi Charges Social Groups in Oyo to Support Govt in Providing Quality Healthcare for Residents

 

 

A social-cultural group, Iseyin Development Union has made a significant philanthropic gesture by donating and commissioning a modernized water borehole to General Hospital Iseyin. The generous act which will benefit both the hospital staff and patients.

The donated water borehole is part of Iseyin Development Union’s corporate social responsibility to the people of Iseyin and its surroundings. The initiative which demonstrates the group’s commitment to giving back to the community.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Dr. Akin Fagbemi, Chairman of the Oyo State Hospital Management Board, expressed his gratitude to Iseyin Development Union for their kindness while encouraging other social-cultural groups in the state to emulate this good gesture.

Dr. Fagbemi praised Governor Seyi Makinde’s plans to renovate all hospital secondary facilities in the state, as outlined in the Omitun-tun 2.0 agenda.

He assured the public that the hospital renovation project has been included in the 2025 budget, which has been signed into law by the Governor.

The chairman also appreciated Governor Makinde’s approval of the new minimum wage, which will benefit hospital staff and enhance their performance.

The move demonstrates the state government’s commitment to improving the welfare of its employees.

Dr. Fagbemi noted that the state government has addressed the challenges of hospital staff leaving the country in search of better opportunities by paying their salaries promptly, the government has encouraged staff to remain and provide quality healthcare services.

He urged Iseyin Development Union to extend their corporate social responsibility to other areas of the hospital, supporting the government’s efforts to deliver quality healthcare to the people of the state.

Earlier in her address, Chairperson of Iseyin Development Union, Chief Mojirade Obisuji, commended the present administration, led by Governor Seyi Makinde, for improving healthcare facilities and infrastructure in the state.

Chief Obisuji emphasized the importance of donating the modernized water borehole to the hospital, stating that water is essential for life noting that the gesture will greatly benefit both staff and patients at the hospital.

The commissioning of the water borehole is a testament to the partnership between Iseyin Development Union and the Oyo State Government.

This collaboration aims to provide quality healthcare services to the people of the state.
