…Says Nigeria will overcome COVID-19

…Urges officers not to cave in

 

The Peace Corps of Nigeria (PCN), Oyo State Command has congratulated Christian faithful for witnessing yet another Easter celebration.

In an Easter message made available to journalists in Ibadan,the state capital,the State Commandant, Patriot Lukman Yekini Adelowo, said this year’s Easter celebration is unique and therefore urged the residents of Pace Setter of Oyo to renew their hope in Christ.

The Peace Corps chief enjoined Christians and adherents of other faiths in the state to emulate simplicity, sacrifice and selflessness of the Saviour in their daily lives.

“Easter is very significant as it is an annual event that marks the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ. I urge Christians and adherents of other faiths to emulate the sacrifice and selflessness of Jesus Christ in their daily lives”, the security chief said,while urging Christians to renew their faith in God’s love.

“You must not forget lessons that God might have taught us in these extra-ordinary seasons. Don’t panic. Continue to maintain social distancing, as well as observe personal hygiene. If coronavirus doesn’t see a way of spreading, it will stop automatically”,the state Commandant urged the residents of the state.

While lauding the Governor Seyi Makinde-led administration on efforts made to tame the scourge of COVID-19, the Commandant prayed: “May the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ save our state and the entire human race from the scourge of this virus.”

Adelowo also charged the officers and men of the command to keep hope alive,saying better days are ahead in the Peace Corps, pointing out:”I am strongly convinced that pretty soon, we will laugh last. Don’t give up. Don’t give in to despondency. Don’t cave in,the mouth-watering testimony is on the way. We will rejoice together as the National Commandant, Ambassador Dickon Akoh and his team are working assiduously to ensure that Peace Corps of Nigeria becomes a Federal Government organization”.
