The Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, and the Executive Chairman of Egbeda Local Government, Hon. Sanda Sikiru Oyedele, have been warmly congratulated on the remarkable achievement of Egbeda Local Government being declared Open Defecation Free (ODF).



The declaration was made by the National Task Force Group on Sanitation at its 8th meeting, held at the Federal Ministry of Water Resources (FMWR).


This landmark achievement is a reflection of the commitment of the Oyo State Government and the administration of Hon. Sanda Sikiru Oyedele to promoting improved sanitation, environmental cleanliness, public health and the overall well-being of residents.




The attainment of the ODF status is a significant milestone for Egbeda Local Government and a testament to the collective efforts of government officials, environmental health personnel, community stakeholders and residents in embracing proper sanitation practices.

Special appreciation goes to the Head of Local Government Administration, Egbeda Local Government, Dr. Alaga Ayo Monsurat; the Director of Environmental Health Services; Sanitarian Baale Victoria; and the entire management and staff of Egbeda Local Government for their dedication, teamwork and invaluable contributions towards achieving this feat.
Their commitment and tireless efforts have contributed immensely to this historic recognition and demonstrated what can be achieved through effective leadership, collaboration and community participation.
While celebrating this milestone, the administration urges all residents of Egbeda Local Government to sustain the achievement by continuing to uphold proper sanitation and hygiene practices and ensuring that the communities remain clean, healthy and environmentally safe.
