The attention of the Office of the Executive Chairman of Egbeda Local Government, Hon. Sanda Sikiru Lajue, has been drawn to a press statement circulating on social media which unnecessarily drags the names of respected political leaders into issues capable of creating division within the Allied People’s Movement (APM) in Egbeda Local Government.
We wish to state that political participation and healthy democratic engagement should never be reduced to personal attacks, disrespect, or attempts to tarnish the hard-earned reputations of distinguished leaders who have contributed immensely to the growth and stability of our party.
In particular, we urge the writer(s) of the statement to refrain from involving Otunba Seye Famojuro and other respected leaders in any form of political bitterness or inflammatory rhetoric.
Leaders of their calibre deserve respect for their years of service, commitment, and sacrifices toward the development of our party and Oyo State.
Hon. Sanda Sikiru Lajue believes that leadership is built on dialogue, consultation, mutual respect, and adherence to the constitution of our great party.
Every aspirant has the constitutional right to pursue his or her ambition, while party leaders equally have the responsibility to ensure fairness, peace, and unity throughout the process.
We therefore appeal to all supporters to conduct themselves with maturity and avoid statements capable of creating unnecessary tension or disunity among party faithful. The strength of APM lies in its unity, discipline, and respect for leadership.
As we prepare for the forthcoming local government elections, let us place the collective interest of Egbeda above personal ambitions. Politics should remain a platform for service, development, and progress not bitterness or division.
Hon. Sanda Sikiru Lajue remains committed to promoting peace, inclusiveness, and harmony among all members and leaders of our great party.
Together, we can build a stronger, more united Egbeda Local Government.
Signed:
Media Aide to Hon. Sanda Sikiru Lajue
