Member representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, Hon. (Dr.) Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, has felicitated with Muslim faithful in the federal constituency on the occasion of this year’s Eid al-Adha.

Hon. Adepoju’s statement to Muslim faithful in the constituency was contained in a statement made available to newsmen in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, on Friday, June 6, 2025, by his spokesperson, Hassan Adesodi Olaoniye.

According to Hon. Adepoju, Eid al-Adha symbolises gratitude, obedience, devotion and sacrifice, urging Muslims to continue to emulate the way of life of Prophet Ibrahim, even in the face of adversity and tribulations.

The lawmaker beseeched the Muslim community in Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Local Government Areas to seize the moment to reflect on their devotion to Allah while renewing their commitment to Islamic values and principles.

He enjoined pilgrims to pray for the continued stability, peace, harmony, growth and development of the constituency and Nigeria as a whole while performing their Hajj.

Ibarapakan also declared that to make this year’s Eid al-Adha celebration worthwhile for the people of his constituency, he had reached out to several Muslim faithful and community leaders, expressing strong optimism that they would extend generosity to their neighbours and beyond during this period of compassion and selflessness. He added that he would also be around to celebrate with the people of his constituency.

Hon. Adepoju also extended his warm greetings to His Excellency, Engr. Oluseyi Makinde, commending his numerous initiatives benefiting civil servants and residents of Oyo State, ensuring they always have every reason to celebrate, including this period of sacrifice and devotion. “Despite the economic challenges facing Nigeria, Governor Makinde has remained people-centred, putting smiles on the faces of the residents of Oyo State through his policies,” he said.

The Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Federal Character, however, enjoined constituents to be law-abiding during and after celebration.
