Residents and Political stakeholders in Oluyole Local Government Area of Oyo State are currently basking in the euphoria of celebration as the executive chairman of the Council, Asiwaju Akeem Olatunji, gifted party leaders and all 10 wards within the local government food items and cash.
The distribution of essential food items and cash according to Olatunji was to ease the burden of the just concluded Ramadan fasting as well as preparation for the Eid-el Fitr celebration that follows completion of the spiritual exercise for many beneficiaries.
The event, which took place on Friday, saw party leaders, community representatives, and residents gathered in gratitude as they received the much-needed support.
Speaking at the distribution event yesterday, Olatunji stressed the importance of unity, generosity, and support for one another, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan.
He reaffirmed his commitment to the PDP and his dedication to the welfare of its members and the larger Oluyole local government residents.
“This is a period of reflection, prayer, and sacrifice. As a party, we must continue to show love and care by practical examples to our people.
“This little effort is my way of ensuring that our party leaders, faithful, and residents have a smooth and fulfilling Ramadan in line with the welfarism of governor Seyi Makinde.
” I want to urge our people to realize the exigencies of the present economic situation on families and households, especially the less privileged, widows, and physically challenged persons within and around our neighborhoods at various communities, and the need to reach out to them,” Olatunji stated.
The donation included staple food items such as rice, beans, and cooking oil, along with financial support for ward leaders to further assist their members.
Beneficiaries expressed their appreciation for Olatunji’s consistent generosity, describing him as a true grassroots politician who always prioritizes the well-being of his people.
Speaking on behalf of the PDP leaders and stakeholders one of the party’s local government chairman in Oluyole, Alhaji Mukaila Adegbola, commended Olatunji’s selfless contributions, describing the gesture as unprecedented and commendable.
Speaking further, Alhaji Adegbola likened Olatunji to star in the PDP family in Oluyole saying, “He has distinguished himself as not only a trusted and dependable grassroots politician but one who fully aligns his activities and programs with the vision of governor Seyi Makinde at the local level.
“He has always been there for us. His dedication to the party and the people of Oluyole is commendable, and we appreciate his kind gestures, especially at this crucial time.”
The event further strengthened Olatunji’s standing within the party as well as reinforced his influence as a key stakeholder in Oluyole political landscape.
Other party members who spoke to journalists expressed optimism that his leadership and generosity would continue to unite and empower the PDP in the local government area.
