Eid-el-Fitr: Hon Alawode Extends Felicitations to Muslim Community

 

As Muslims around the world prepare to mark Eid-el-Fitr, the festival celebrating the conclusion of the holy month of Ramadan, the Executive Chairman of Ibadan South East Local Government, Hon. Emmanuel Oluwole Alawode affectionately known as “Arole Omituntun” has extended his heartfelt greetings to the Muslim community.

In his message to the faithfuls, Arole Omituntun maintained that being blessed and honoured to be alive to witness the month of Ramadan is an invaluable opportunity and none should discard the lessons learnt in it.

Hon. Alawode emphasized that the conclusion of Ramadan is a moment for deep reflection on the teachings of Prophet Mohammed, urging Muslims to embody the virtues of peace, compassion, and unity as the festival remains a unifying event that underscores the values of gratitude, generosity, and social harmony.

The council boss enjoined the Muslim Faithfuls to reflect on the lessons learnt during Ramadan period and on the significance of fasting as a religious obligation.
“As we celebrate, let us remember that moderation is important. Let us also remember the poor and less privileged people in our midst and extend a hand of love and support to them,” he stressed.

Hon. Alawode also used the opportunity to pledge his administration’s commitment to promoting peaceful co-existence among the residents of Ibadan South East Local Government and charged the residents to sustain these values even after the Holy month to build a prosperous and peaceful Ibadan South East Local Government where everyone can actualise their dreams.

He then call on adherents of various religions to love one another and live together in peace.
