In a gesture of compassion and solidarity, Amb. Abdul-Wasiu Tomiwa Omolewa, popularly known as “Tommy”, Chairman of the Oyo State Park Management System (PMS), led a delegation of Oyo PMS executives to the Agodi Custodial Centre, Ibadan, to distribute food palliatives to inmates as part of activities marking Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.
During the visit, the Chairman engaged directly with the inmates, delivering a heartfelt message of hope, repentance, and spiritual encouragement. He urged them to keep seeking forgiveness from God, emphasizing that every occurrence in life is part of destiny.
“Keep praying to God, never backbite one another, and always share love,” Amb. Omolewa advised. He expressed his desire for the inmates to experience joy during the Eid celebration, just as those outside the facility are celebrating.
He further prayed for divine mercy upon the inmates, asking God to grant them freedom from incarceration and to strengthen them to live reformed lives upon release. “Once you are free, do not return here again,” he added.
The visit also featured prayers for the overall well-being and rehabilitation of the inmates.
In appreciation, a leader of the inmates thanked Amb. Abdul-Wasiu Tomiwa Omolewa “Tommy” for his consistent support, particularly for the provision of a borehole within the facility, other amenities, and for the annual distribution of food palliatives during Eid celebrations.
