Eid-ul-Fitr: Ibarapakan felicitates with Muslim faithful, urges peaceful coexistence

Member representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, Hon. (Dr.) Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, has felicitated with Muslim faithful on the completion of this year’s Ramadan.

In his Eid-ul-Fitr text on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, Hon. (Dr.) Adepoju enjoined Muslim faithful to continue to uphold the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) even after the holy month of Ramadan.

Ibarapakan stressed that amidst economic hardship, Nigerians, both Muslims and Christians, went on days of fasting, emphasising that the gesture demonstrates the resilience of Nigerians and their strong faith even in the face of adversity.

According to the lawmaker, the moment of Eid-ul-Fitr presents yet another opportunity for Nigerians to unite in prayer and workable ideas to chart a new course for the country at large.

He said that people of different religious faiths should see themselves as one and continue to tolerate one another for the unity, peace, progress and development of Nigeria.

Also in his remarks, the Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Federal Character said his sponsored Ramadan lecture and others he attended during the just concluded Ramadan showed that religious institutions have a very powerful role to play in nation-building, noting that religious leaders should not hesitate to use their influence to foster peace and instruct both the ruled and the led in order to have a country that works with the fear of the Almighty.

He appreciated the continued sacrifices of people of different religious faiths, adding that righteousness exalts a nation.

Congratulating Muslin faithful in Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North, the lawmaker said he would be using the next few weeks to supervise, flag off and commission some projects in the two local government areas, appreciating the people of the federal constituency for their prayers and support since his election last year.

He also urged citizens in the constituency to be law-abiding during and after Eid-ul-Fitr.
