The Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Inclusion, Hon (Mrs) Toyin Balogun has lauded the lawmaker representing Ibadan Northeast/Southeast Federal Constituency, Hon Abass Adigun Agboworin on the empowerment scheme he organized for 150 Women in his constituency on Wednesday 1st of November 2023.
The Honourable Commissioner who was one of the special guests of Honour at the elaborate event which had our eminent First Lady and Mother General of Oyo State women ;Her Excellency Tamunominini Olufunke Makinde creatively coordinating the impacful event ,said the gesture to each beneficiary from the lawmaker, which was worth millions of naira, was part of Hon Agboworin’s efforts to make women of the Federal Constituency self-reliant in line with Governor Seyi Makinde’s sworn intention to lift our people out of poverty and penury,into prosperity.
She noted that today’s life changing empowerment will help to take those 150 women out of the ranks of the vulnerable and destitutes.
She said women empowerment remains one of the top priorities of her principals, His Excellency Governor Seyi Makinde and Her Excellency Engr Tamunomini Makinde and that more of such programmes were underway from the Ministry of Women Affairs & Social Inclusion in the fast approaching 2024 fiscal year under the ambits of the transformationql Omituntun 2.0. Mrs Balogun therefore admonished the beneficiaries not to sell the equipment bestowed on them .She further charged the beneficiaries of the empowerment to make good use of the equipment presented to them to lift themselves out of poverty and destitution
