One of the visions of the present administration in Oyo State under the leadership of the Peoples Governor, His Excellency Seyi Makinde is to recognize and celebrate the best brain in Oyo State Secondary Schools.
The Executive Governor approved a quiz competition among all secondary schools from each local government be it public or private school.
He also directed all the Executive Chairmen to allow the overall best student in each council to serve as a day chairman in their respective council.
In Afijio Local Government, the quiz competition was conducted among all secondary schools a few months ago while Miss Christiana Adesola of Akinmorin Grammar School emerged as the overall best student and this led to her inauguration as a day Chairman of Afijio Local Government.
Others who took second and third positions were members of her cabinet.
Her cabinet includes; Miss Adeyemi Gloria – Vice Chairman, Master Omotayo Emmanuel – Leader of the Legislative House, Master Adebayo Abdulafeez – the Deputy Leader, Miss Adeoye Mary – Hon. Councillor and others.
In her address, Miss Christiana Adesola expressed her sincere gratitude to the Executive Governor of Oyo State for giving her this rare privilege and she also extended her gratitude to the Executive Chairman of Afijio Local Government Hon. Sunday Akindele Ojo (SAO) while she promised to always be a good ambassador of her council and Oyo State at large.
In his response; the Executive Chairman of Afijio Local Government Hon. Sunday Akindele Ojo (SAO) gave a big kudos to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde for this rare privilege.
He describes the Governor as a Visionary Leader whose vision is to ensure that every student receives the best education in Oyo state.
The Executive Chairman also charged a day chairman and her cabinet not to relent in their academic pursuit “Your dream shall come true if you set your goals right and aim for the sky” the chairman stated.
The Council boss further called on parents and teachers to come together to mold future generations to be strong citizens through proper monitoring and care.
In attendance were: Hon. Dapo Ajao- the Leader of the House, Councillors,Chief of Staff- Hon. Wunmi Akinrinola, Supervisory Councilors,Head of Local Government Administration – Alhaja Amdalat Salau, the Directors, quiz coordinator – Mr. Hassan Anuoluwapo among others.
