The Eruwa Youth Movement, EYM has thrown its weight behind the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, reaffirming confidence in his leadership and distancing him from ongoing political controversies in the state.
In a communiqué issued on Wednesday April 15, 2026, after a meeting to assess recent political developments, the group—representing youths in Ibarapa East Constituency described the Speaker as a stabilising force whose leadership has sustained peace and cohesion in the state legislature for nearly seven years.
The youths commended Ogundoyin for presiding over what they called a “rancour-free” Assembly, noting that such stability is rare in the political history of Oyo State.
According to the communiqué, his stewardship reflects discipline, maturity, and a strong commitment to democratic principles.
The group also highlighted the working relationship between the legislative arm and the executive led by Governor Seyi Makinde, describing it as cordial and productive.
They said this synergy has contributed significantly to policy implementation, governance efficiency, and overall political stability in the state.
Reaffirming Ogundoyin’s loyalty, the Eruwa youths said his track record leaves no room for doubt regarding his commitment to both the government and the people.
They maintained that his conduct over the years demonstrates consistency and responsibility in public service.
Addressing recent speculations, the group defended the Speaker’s ongoing consultations across the state, describing them as legitimate democratic engagements.
They cautioned against interpreting such interactions as signs of disloyalty or linking them to any alleged impeachment plot.
The communiqué further condemned what it termed deliberate attempts by “mischief-makers” to create tension and fabricate a rift among key political figures in the state.
It warned that such narratives are divisive and undermine the collective interest of the people.
Calling for calm, the group urged political actors, stakeholders, and the general public to exercise restraint, uphold the truth, and prioritise unity and peace in the interest of sustained development.
The Eruwa Youth Movement concluded by reiterating its commitment to peaceful coexistence, responsible civic engagement, and the continued progress of Ibarapa East and the state at large.
