EX-MEDIA AIDE TO AJIMOBI ASKS SOME GUBER ASPIRANTS TO DROP AMBITION

A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress APC in Egbeda Local Government, Elder Kayode Bamiduro has advised some members of the party in the State, to drop their ambitions to contest for Governorship ticket and face the efforts to rebuild the party.

Bamiduro, former Special Assistant Media to the immediate past Governor of Oyo State, late Senator Abiola Ajimobi made the statement in a press statement issued this Saturday and made available to GOALPOACHER NEWS in Ibadan.

According to him, those in this categories are serving Senators and House of Representatives members who actually decampeed from the Peoples Democratic Party PDP to join the APC.

He added that, if former Governor Adebayo Alao Akala from PDP/ADP is being touted to lead the party in the State, it would be morally wrong for his PDP caucus to also planning to be Governor without considering the the Progressives in the party.

The media practitioner and producer of Oju Abe, a current affairs television personality interview Programme, says it may sound funny but a reality that must be given a serious thoughts.

“In effect, the likes of Distinguished Senators Fatai Buhari and Teslim Folarin should give this piece of advice a serious thought and try to fight for their retention in the Upper Chambers if only we are not going to work in vain again in 2023”.

They must realize that Progressives have their principles and practices. They should stop thinking that the death of Ajimobi has given them unrestricted opportunities to ask for anything. Such thinking would fail and make people work in vain. May we not work in vain.

Elder Bamiduro then advised former Governor Alao Akala to summon courage to call those with unguided ambition to order to pave way for a contest among the so called progressives.

He however commended Senator Fatai Buhari for always raising the flag of APC higher and higher in Oyo North Senatorial District and urge him not to relent in doing good while appealing to his colleague representing Oyo Central, Senator Teslim Folarin to emulate Senator Buhari by making his impact felt better in his Senatorial District.

As good as your advice sounds, it’s not practicable and it’s also self serving. Once a person has joined a party, he as a bonafide member should be allowed to enjoy equal rights and opportunities as others. It’s against democratic norms and culture to deny any person of his rights unless the Constitution of the party stipulates how long a person should have stayed in a party before he can hold an office.
