FAGBEMI JOINS NIFST NATIONAL COUNCIL ON COURTESY VISIT TO MINISTER OF SCIENCE &TECHNOLOGY, DR ONU

Today, the Executive Chairman, Oyo State Road Transport Management Authority (OYRTMA), Mogaji (Dr.) Akin Fagbemi who doubles as the National Secretary of the Nigerian Institute of Food Science and Technology joined with other members of the National Executive Council of the Institute on a courtesy visit to the Honorable Minister for Science and Technology, His Excellency, Dr. Christopher Ogbonnaya Onu in FCT, Abuja.

The Council expressed appreciation to the Honorable Minister for His tremendous efforts towards the smooth passage and subsequent assent of Mr. President, His Excellency, Muhammadu Buhari GCFR to the ‘Nigerian Council of Food Science and Technology Act’ which was supervised under the ministry of Science and Technology.

While the Council also solicited for a more concerted effort with the Ministry towards ensuring food security, safety and availability to the Nigerian people, it equally sought support for the newly established National Council for Food Science and Technology so that members of the profession in Nigeria who have being eagerly waiting for it can begin to enjoy the privileges of the Charter.

The Honorable Minister who was delighted to meet with the leadership of the Institute expressed readiness of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration to do all in its powers to support the Charter and the Institute in its continuous strive to contribute meaningfully to the Nation’s economy and by extension the livelihood of the Nigerian people.
